Serenity
Serenity is a state of mind. If you want to experience it, you need to make a conscious choice to put your brain on hold for a while and focus solely on yourself and your happiness.
Wandering thoughts can be exhausting. You will end up feeling physically worn out. To get your energy back, you need to regain power over your mind.
As we say in NLP "Energy flows where attention goes" so better put your energy on something fulfilling for the soul.
In order to do that, first focus on things which are coming repetitively in your mind. If it helps, just take a journal and write all these thoughts down. Once you have done that, start by making a gratitude list. It helps shifting your thoughts towards a more positive outlook.
The next step is to make a wish list of all the things you would like to accomplish in the near future. Then on another page, write down all the things you are passionate about. It will help getting inspiration and put the creativity wheel into action.
Start meditating everyday for 10 or 15 minutes. The purpose of meditation is not to stop your thoughts but just to observe them. This practice of going inwards will help you open all your senses and connect to yourself so you can better listen to your intuition. It will change your life and you will start getting new ideas which might change your future.
You can also listen to soothing music while reading a book on positive thinking. Listening to podcasts or Ted talks is also a good way to change your perspective on life.
In no time, you will feel lighter, happier and more serene.
As Jane Nelsen has rightly said : "If you don't like what you are thinking, stop thinking it. Instead, use your thinking ability to process the thoughts that come from your heart. That's where serenity lies."
