Choice

In life you are constantly making choices. It can go from the simple choice of "what will I eat for dinner tonight" to the ones which need a bit more reflection when it comes to your career or personal life. For choices between two ice cream flavours, you are not taking a big risk. If you choose one today, you can always try the other one next time. But when it concerns bigger life decisions, it is all about priority. Each time you ask yourself "Am I making the right decision", take a deep breath and evaluate if it will help you grow in the long run. If that's the case, go for it. If not, maybe you should reconsider your option. The choices you are making today will have an impact on your life tomorrow, whether it will be a positive or a negative one. So choose wisely. We are living in a world where we are surrounded by a million options everyday. It is easy to get overwhelmed with so many choices, especially when you enjoy learning and trying new things...

Understanding

It is important to understand ourselves before being able to understand others. The more we will push aside the idea of working on our emotions, and the longer it will take us to reach to a stage of self-awareness. It is already a big step towards growth to acknowledge that we are not perfect but it is another one to start working concretely on our weak points.

We should start by processing our thoughts and emotions and analyse our behaviours in order to get clarity on how we are affecting others.

Some people are emotionally closed off and therefore it is a struggle for them to express their feelings as it pushes them out of their comfort zone. They would rather do other things than to start working on themselves. In certain circumstances, it is due to some hidden wounds which need to be healed. Sometimes, when people wishes come true, we can notice that unconsciously their actions will not match their desire because they are not ready for it.

The best way to start this process of self-discovery is to journal. Take several deep breaths before starting to write. It will help you connect to your heart and quiet the mind. You can write about situations that you encountered in the past and how they made you feel and what were your reactions to it. Look at the type of situations which repeated several times and the emotions they triggered. Was it anger, sadness, worry or something else. The goal is to understand the emotion you felt the most and start working on it.

Another exercise is to stand in front of the mirror and look into your own eyes. Take notice of the emotion you see. We are usually good at reading others emotions but not our own. This exercise is powerful and let you connect to your soul.

After having done your inner work, you can now turn to your close friends or family and ask them for their feedback in order to improve. There is always the fear of being judged but if you take a leap of faith and trust in yourself, everything will be easier.

Just try some of these exercises and see how your life starts transforming for the better.
